Hi yall.
For my current major, I have to take A&P 1 and 2. Both have labs. I've confirmed from several sources that the entire purpose of the lab is to analyse things using the microscope. Tests involve almost all visual diagrams, etc. Have any of you who are totally blind managed to complete a class like this? If so, how?

I had a biology class that we did all that on the computer. It was pritty easy because everything was written out and i only had a few things I needed help with. But my classes were online classes... Can you see if this is how your classes are going to be?

If you are attending an "in person" college or university and they have an office for students with disabilities, see if they can assist with models/diagrams or at the very least, raised graphics to help out with some of this. You could also see if an art student would be interested in doing it for you if the office can't.

Ok, good ideas. I'm attending a local community college so their DSS office is still a bit of a work in progress. I'm thinking of changing my major anyway but I should prepare in case I don't.

Ugh! Can't believe I didn't think of this earlier and granted, with it being a small community college this probably won't help, BUT!
talk to the prof and see if he/he has any ideas.
I took a neurobehavioral class and the prof had me come to his office so he could give me a hands on (why does this sound dirty?) and he was excellent at it. I've never had any one do such a great job and that includes all the people working in the VI/blind rehab area.
He had a friend who was blind and he helped her get through her grad level anatomy classes. (Ha, that sounds dirty, too!)
Anyway, you just never know when someone will have a great idea that we didn't consider.
